The cookbook features delicious ingredients that you already have readily available in your pantry, with easy to follow recipes that will have you cooking all your meals in a jiffy, ensuring that your family and loved ones will be coming back for seconds and thirds.

By purchasing the cookbook, you will be actively helping women around South Africa achieve their small business dreams through the Clover Mama Afrika project. The project aims to identify women who are already agents of change in their communities and helps train them to become self-sustaining women with skills, which they can use to derive income from to support orphaned and abused children and the elderly and infirm.

Cheesy Stuffed Bread

Makes one loaf

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 30 minutes

INGREDIENTS

1 loaf ciabata bread

100 g (1 cup) Clover Cheddar, grated

250 ml (1 cup) Clover Classic Mayonnaise, Strong

20 g (handful) chives, chopped

1 tablespoon wholegrain mustard

2 (1 tablespoon) garlic cloves, minced

1 teaspoon salt

3 teaspoons black pepper, ground

Method

  1.  Preheat oven to 200 ̊C
  2.  Cut ciabata bread into thick slices, but don’t slice through the base
  3.  Mix the cheddar, mayonnaise, chives, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  4.  Spread a thick layer of the cheese mixture between each slice.
  5.  Wrap the loaf in foil, and place on a baking tray.
  6.  Bake for 20 – 30 minutes or until the cheese melts and bread is lightly golden and crisp.
  7. Serve hot with other braai sides.

TIPS:

  • This bread can be made the day before, just keep it wrapped in foil until ready to bake.
  • Add some fresh chopped chillies for a spicy version.
