Detectives arrest three following robbery tip-off

Detectives arrested three men after receiving a tip-off that a group of suspects were allegedly going to commit a robbery on 25 August.
Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said that the detectives followed up on the information and cornered the suspects on 2nd Avenue in Alexandra.
“The first suspect pointed a firearm at police officers and attempted to run away. He was, however, shot in the left leg by the police. He was immediately arrested with two of his accomplices. The other suspects managed to escape,” explained Mbatha.
A 9mm pistol with 10 live rounds of ammunition was recovered. An investigation is underway.
