Alex youth receive vouchers from NPO

ALEXANDRA – Kufike-Izazi Community Health Care is a non-profit organisation that is dedicated to combating poverty in the township.

To observe International Youth Day on 12 August, Kufike-Izazi Community Health Care, a non-profit organisation based in Alexandra, donated vouchers to the youth of Alex to assist them with toiletries and other necessities.

Fikile Zulu, founder of Kufike-Izazi, said she decided to hand over the vouchers, worth R250 each, to unemployed youth of Alex so they could get any essentials they might need. “These vouchers were donated by a local businessman in our area, I am very thankful to him because now we are able to assist where ever we can,” she said.

The handover took place at Emfundisweni Primary School and Zulu ensured that necessary Covid-19 precautions, like wearing masks, were adhered to.

“Most of them have been waiting for the Covid-19 relief fund, they have little to no source of income so I am hoping that these vouchers will come in very handy,” said Zulu.
