Man ordered to cover himself with a blanket while suspects make off with TV and cell phones

ALEXANDRA – According to the complainant, the suspects had made off with items valued at R4 200.

A 53-year-old male reported a house robbery case at the Alexandra Police Station on 15 July.

Station spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said that the incident occurred on 6th Avenue. The complainant reported that he was sleeping when he heard footsteps in his bedroom around 3am. He then saw two unknown males. “One of the males allegedly pointed a firearm at him and ordered that he cover himself with a blanket,” explained Mbatha.

According to the complainant, after about five minutes, the room went silent. He then removed the blanket he was under and immediately noticed that a television set and two cell phones had been stolen.

“All the items are valued at about R4 200. The suspects are still at large and unknown at this stage,” said Mbatha.
