Many residents in Alexandra were left without electricity yesterday (16 June) after a mini-substation blew up in Alexandra.
A tweet by City Power explained the incident was ‘due to overloading caused by illegal connections’.
“This one blew up at 16th Avenue Joe Nhlanhla leaving many in darkness and cold,” read the tweet.
“This is the fourth minisub to burn in Alexandra since June started.”
