Tswane metro cop on alleged Alex murder

An officer of the Tswane Metro Police Department was arrested for the alleged murder of his girlfriend in Alexandra.

Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the accused was handed over to the station by his commanders after the incident was reported.

“The 35-year-old accused of 18th Avenue stabbed the victim with a knife in the neck in a domestic dispute at about 6.30am on 13 April at her 6th Avenue home. She died on the scene.”

Mbatha added that the accused would appear in court soon after the investigation is completed.
