Party turns to alleged attempted murder scene

ALEXANDRA – Peacemaker victim of attempted murder in urine laced case

A suspect is to appear in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on a charge of alleged attempted murder which occurred at about midnight on 12 March in Ext 8.

Alex Police Station spokesperson Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha said the victim was drinking alcohol with friends at a party when one of them went out to urinate and did so close to other men who were seated. One of the men got offended and pushed the victim’s friend away. This resulted in them shoving each other. When the victim intervened to stop the confrontation, the accused instead turned on him and threatened to sort him out.

The accused went to his nearby home and on return, attacked the victim with an unknown object.

The victim rushed home and his mother took him to a clinic for treatment for wounds to his head, shoulders and arm.

The suspect handed himself over to the police leading to the charge and pending hearing.
