Alexandra Police Station is treating coronavirus matter with high level of diligence

ALEXANDRA– Spokesperson said the station has complied with all requirements put in place by the Department of Health and it was treating the matter with high level of sensitivity.

The spokesperson at Alexandra Police Station, Sergeant Simphiwe Mbatha, said the station was taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 also known as coronavirus among police and members of the public visiting the facility.

This was after Alex News received a call from the member of the South African Police Service (SAPS) who preferred to remain anonymous for the fear of victimisation complaining and raising concerns about the lack of sanitisers and other prevention resources at the station.

Mbatha said the station has complied with all requirements put in place by the Department of Health and it was treating the matter with high level of sensitivity.

We have sanitisers in all strategic points and all officers have been provided with gloves and masks to protect themselves.”

Mbatha added that the station has also increased the number of officers at the client service department to ensure that members of the public receive help quickly to avoid long queues at the station.
