Family of Samantha Radebe eagerly awaits the finalisation of the investigation into her murder

ALEXANDRA– Spokesperson for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) Sontaga Seisa said the technical report on Radebe's murder case has not yet been finalised


The family of Samantha Radebe, who was allegedly killed by police while chasing a suspect in Tsutsumani, said they will wait for the investigation process to be finalised before taking a decision in the matter.

The 29-year-old mother of two who only got married on 15 December last year was on her way home from work when she was killed by a stray bullet during a police shoot-out as they chased the suspect on 15 January this year.

The family spokesperson, Morena Mathane said, “We eagerly await the final outcome of the investigation by Ipid. We have been made aware of the findings of the preliminary report that implicates the police. Ipid said their investigation was ongoing and promised to provide a detailed report to the family once the investigation process is finalised.”

Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) spokesperson Sontaga Seisa said the technical report on Radebe’s murder has not yet been finalised. “Our investigation on the matter is at an advanced stage. The technical reports are not yet ready.”
