Two victims succumb to stab wounds in separate incidents on Saturday

ALEXANDRA – Cops appeal for witnesses in stabbing deaths.


Alexandra Police Station is investigating the murder of two men hours apart on 29 February.

Station spokesperson Constable Simphiwe Mbatha said, “The body of the first victim who was identified as from East Bank, was found at 3.30am lying at the intersection of Florence Mophosho and 19th avenues.” He had been stabbed in the stomach and mouth.

The second victim’s body was discovered on 1st Avenue at about 11.30pm. “Hillbrow Police Station informed us of the victim [who was] already certified dead and lying on a stretcher at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital. The body had a stab wound to the chest,” said Mbatha who assumed that the victim could have been taken there either by ambulance or private transport.

Mbatha appealed to any possible witnesses to both incidents to help the investigation with any helpful information.
