Anxiety grips 2019 matric and parents

ALEXANDRA – Alex philanthropist Linda Twala reminds the youth that it is never too late to acquire an education.

With anxiety running at fever pitch among children and parents anticipating the 2019 results, the repeated advice to them is not to lose hope, as there is life after the results.

Alex philanthropist Linda Twala urged children who are anxious about their future after the results and those who have joined the unemployment ranks to remember that education is regarded as the gateway to success. “It’s never too late to acquire it. It’s never late for you to improve the quality of your passes by supplementing the subjects required to advance to further tertiary, technical education and better opportunities for employment,” Twala said.

This time of year is troublesome for many, without coping skills, who might in the extreme even consider suicide to escape the anticipated life challenges without matric qualifications.

Twala advised them not to consider loitering in the streets but seek advice. “It’s not your problem alone but also of your family and society in general.”

He also urged the residents to consider praying for the current matric class and those in the future pipeline. “We should also consider re-inculcating the past culture when no children would roam the streets during school hours.” This, he said, saved many from falling pregnant and being exposed to substance abuse and criminal behaviour at a young age. “The country’s future is at risk if our society continues to renege on ensuring quality education for our children.”
