Alex Police Station is investigating an alleged assault of a sergeant by a colonel.
The station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji said the incident seemingly occurred at about 6.15am on 27 October. The accused was allegedly prompted by a quarrel between the two after the junior officer asked the accused to reshuffle his posting and add more members to the shift.
Malatji said of the allegation being probed. “We believe there is more to be told about what led to the physical fight and the charge of common assault being led against the colonel.”
