Leaders of Dudula eviction group have vowed to rally their support behind their members

ALEXANDRA – Kona said they have a list of about 3 000 foreign people who acquired RDP houses illegally in Tsutsumani.

Four members of the controversial eviction group in Alexandra and River Park next to Lombardy East, Dudula, were released on bail by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on 21 October.

The four were arrested on 19 October for allegedly evicting an elderly woman from her RDP house in Ext 9, Tsutsumani.

Bongani Mdluli, Thomas Cele, Ntombi Ndlovu and Germima Ndou briefly appeared in the Alexandra Regional Magistrates’ Court and were charged with intimidation, illegal eviction and damage to property. They were granted R500 bail each and will return to court on 25 November.

Speaking to Alex News outside the court, the leader and co-founder of Dudula, Sbusiso Kona, said, “Our organisation will support its members until the end of the court process. We believe that there was nothing wrong in evicting someone who fraudulently received an RPD house and we will continue administering justice that our government has failed to administer.”

Kona said they have a list of about 3 000 foreign people who acquired RDP houses illegally in Tsutsumani and surrounding areas and they will not be deterred from doing what they believe is the right thing to do.
