JOBURG – The police are recruiting entry-level police trainees, applicants interested have been invited to apply.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking for new applicants interested in joining the SAPS Basic Police Trainee Learning Programme as the closing date nears.

The police have noted, however, of efforts made by corruptors who sell application forms to aspiring trainees at a cost of R3 000 per application or to secure a spot. The Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Corporate Services in Gauteng, Major General Patricia Rampota condemned the acts of criminality and emphasised, “One of the qualities we require from prospective trainees, is integrity. As adamant as we are about rooting out corrupt elements from within our ranks, we will equally not allow or exonerate anyone who employs corrupt means to get into the SAPS.”

In the statement, Rampota said no payment is required for applications.

Aspiring trainees should meet the following criteria:

Prospective applicants who meet all of the above criteria can find the forms on the SAPS website. Application closing date is 31 October.
