ALEXANDRA – Cars, house items recovered from nabbed robbery suspects

 


Two suspects who committed robberies with accomplices who are at large are in police custody pending their day in court.

One of them was arrested on 25 September for a house robbery in Sandton in which the victim’s vehicle was stolen and the other for the possession of a vehicle found loaded with stolen household items.

Alex Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji said police traced a BMW that was reported stolen in the Sandton robbery, to East Bank. When the suspects saw the police vehicle approaching, they sped off resulting in a car chase. The driver eventually stopped the vehicle and its three occupants fled on foot. One of them was apprehended. He led the police to another location where other men were found offloading goods from a Toyota Rav 4 reported hijacked in Edenvale. The suspects fled when they saw the officers approaching and one of them was arrested.

Two vehicles, eight plasma TV sets, play stations, cell phones, clothing and bedding, jewellery and boxes containing other items were recovered.
