Cops investigate child’s suspected self-poisoning.

ALEXANDRA – A 13-year-old schoolgirl takes own life.

The Alexandra Police Station is investigating the death in hospital of a 13-year-old schoolgirl allegedly from self-induced poisoning.

Alex Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatji said the victim of Sandringham was taken in a critical condition by her mother on 29 August to Edenvale Hospital where she later died.

The mother suspected the child may have ingested the poison after she had chastised her for bunking school.
