Police tip-off leads to the arrest of a suspect found in possession of explosives and stolen goods

ALEXANDRA – Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatjie said a man was arrested following a tip-off.

 


Alexandra police arrested a 32-year-old man on 9 July this year after he was caught in possession of suspected stolen goods and dangerous explosives.

Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatjie said the man was arrested following a tip-off. “Last night, just before midnight, the police arrested a 32-year-old male suspect on 11th Avenue, Alexandra.

“He was caught in possession of explosive devices, jar bottles stacked with dagga and suspected stolen televisions right inside his residence.”

Malatjie added that the suspect acknowledged and admitted selling dagga but denied knowledge of explosives linking them to his uncle.

The suspect was charged and detained at Alexandra Police Station holding cells and was due to appear in Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 12 July for being in possession of explosives and stolen goods.
