Dog abuse ends in family tragedy

ALEXANDRA – Brother's murderer gets reprieve to attend funeral.


A case of murder resulting from an alleged squabble between two siblings in Alex is featuring in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.

The accused who will be back in the dock end of July is on free bail after he was released by the court on request by the family for him to attend his brother’s funeral. He allegedly stabbed the brother in an altercation after the deceased had accused him of hitting a dog.

The confrontation escalated into a fist fight and the accused who was seemingly being overpowered produced a knife and stabbed his brother.

The injured sibling was taken in a Toyota Avanza taxi to a clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Probation officers are said to be involved in the case following a plea by the family for the accused to be assisted with counselling.
