Suspect gives crime victim fake contact details

ALEXANDRA – Police have urged the community to be vigilant and report suspicious activities.

A case of rape and house robbery has been opened after a 38-year-old woman was raped and robbed of her valuables on 11 June in her house.

This was according to Alexandra Police Station spokesperson Captain Stephen Malatjie who said that the suspect allegedly gained access through the main entrance of the house on the night of the incident.

“The intruder, who mysteriously gained access into the house of a 38-year-old complainant on Tuesday 11 June, took R650 cash, a television, and a cell phone while he instructed her to undress and raped her without a condom,” Malatjie said.

“After the incident, the perpetrator provided the victim with his cell phone numbers which were later proved to not be working when the investigating detectives tried to call the numbers.”

Malatjie urged community members to lock their doors and call 10111 if they witness criminal activities in the area.
