APC promises best service delivery in Alex if voters give it a chance to run the government

ALEXANDRA– Our manifesto speaks to the African agenda that is putting first the interests and the needs of African people

The president of the African People’s Convention (APC) Themba Godi has urged voters and the community of Alexandra to vote smartly by voting his party if they want to see real change in service delivery in the area.

Godi who was recently on his party’s election trail campaign in Alexandra told Alex News that his party’s manifesto was the only one speaking to ordinary men and women on the ground.

“Our manifesto speaks to the African agenda that is putting first the interests and the needs of African people at the centre of political, economic, social and cultural discourse. We’ve realised that for the past 25 years down the line the African people are in the periphery in every aspect of their lives and yet they are the majority in the country but don’t benefit from the freedom they fought for,”

Godi who has been the chairperson of Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) for fourteen years in parliament said the issue of poor service delivery and lack of development was due to corruption in all spheres of government. He said in his tenure as chairperson of SCOPA in parliament he has never unduly benefited and that is how the government under the leadership of APC will be.

On the issue of state-owned enterprises, Godi said his party will ensure that the existing SOE’s are strengthened through credible boards of directors and qualified executives. He said his party will not support privatisation of SOE’s.
