Still undecided on party choice days before voting

ALEXANDRA – Parties dash man's hopes, leaving him undecided.

Despite his hardship, Happy Ndlovu will vote at the 8 May national general elections but is still to decide who to give his precious vote.

A floor-crosser from the IFP, Ndlovu said he switched allegiance due to broken promises in his home province of KwaZulu-Natal. He moved to Gauteng with the hope of better opportunities under the ANC-led government. He said they got his vote after promising to deliver jobs and better living conditions only for many voters to find themselves in a quandary – living in shacks and prompted into crime to survive. “Political parties are adept at hoodwinking the electorate who they abandon immediately after attaining power, ” he claimed, indicating the shift from promise to abandonment which leaves the expectant electorate desperate for five years until the next elections when politicians again descended on them.

He lauded charity organisation for bridging the gap between poverty and survival. “Its an indictment to government for failing to listen to and attend to the basic needs of the poor in both urban and rural areas where land was hoarded by barons instead of creating employment through its use and ensuring tenure security through housing.”

He implored the ANC to live by its mantra of ensuring a better life for all which is featured prominently in previous elections.
