Attempted murder victim gets tongue lashing

ALEXANDRA – Attempted murderer sentenced, victim gets tongue lashing.

The Alexandra Magistrates’ Court sentenced an attempted murderer to three-and-half years’ imprisonment and castigated his victim for inciting the incident.

Andile Ndamase of Rasta Village was sentenced after he admitted to the offence committed at the village with another sibling who was acquitted. The victim is married to the ex-wife of the accused’s deceased brother. The siblings were seemingly irked by the victim denying them access to the deceased’s children.

The matter came to head one day when the victim stopped one of the children from talking to the accused. The siblings assaulted him and the accused beat him to a pulp with a pick handle resulting in him spending 21 days in the hospital while receiving treatment.

The victim, who said he received snide remarks from the siblings over his marriage to their former sister-in-law, got a tongue lashing from the magistrate for denying them access to their brother’s children.
