Just over a month after the devasting cyclone Idai hit Mozambique, weather forecasters predict tropical cyclone Kenneth, to hit the region on Thursday afternoon, 25 April.
Over 300 people in the region have died due to Cyclone Idai, where the storm affected neighbouring countries in Malawi and Zimbabwe with heavy rains and strong winds.
Tropical cyclone Kenneth is predicted to strengthen into a category two cyclone as it makes landfall with severe winds. Care International director in Mozambique, Marc Nosbach, tweeted that the cyclone is threatening the livelihoods of 700 000 people in Northern Mozambique.

Mozambique is struggling to rebuild after Idai, as they have not received much-needed funding. Of the $1 billion needed, they have only raised an estimated $300 million. Cyclone Kenneth is predicted to also hit the Comoros and Tanzania.
UN funding drive to help #Mozambique recover from cyclone Idai has raised only US$74 million since March – UN target stands at US$282m, and estimated direct economic losses at US$773m – Mozambique's ongoing debt scandal means country is also cut from international debt markets
