DA’s Gauteng premier candidate Solly Msimanga blames ANC for the violent #AlexTotalShutdown protest

ALEXANDRA – Msimanga accused the ANC of inciting violence in Alexandra in order to influence the outcomes of the forthcoming general elections on 8 May this year.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) premier candidate for the forthcoming general elections, Solly Msimanga, has opened a criminal case against the ruling party, the ANC at Alexandra Police Station on 7 April this year.

Msimanga accused the ANC of inciting violence in Alexandra in order to influence the outcomes of the forthcoming general elections on 8 May this year.

This was after residents of Alexandra embarked on a total shutdown on 3 April blockading all roads leading to the township with burning tyres and rocks.

Speaking to the media outside Alexandra Police Station after he had laid charges, Msimanga said he opened a criminal case against the ANC as a concerned resident of Gauteng and as a leader in the society after his party saw Whats App messages from a South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) Whats App group where activities aimed against the mayor in the City of Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba were coordinated.

“I laid criminal charges against the ANC for inciting violence in the area in order to influence the outcomes of the general elections on 8 may. I also presented the police with the evidence of how the ANC was conspiring to instigate violence by coordinating plans with local affiliates on the ground to embark on violent actions.”
