Mayor Herman Mashaba sincerely apologises for M2 bridge road closure

JOHANNESBURG – M2 Bridge will be closed from the 28 February to the end of October 2019.


Executive Mayor of Johannesburg Herman Mashaba has sincerely apologised for the expected road closure of the M2 bridge.

The bridge will be closed from 28 February to the end of October 2019 for structural repairs. 

The mayor announced on 18 February that the City of Joburg will close the bridge from Crown Interchange to Martizburg Street.

The City had found that only six per cent of bridges out of 900 in the city were safety compliant.
