Robbery accused await next court hearing

ALEXANDRA – Two motorists are accused of robbing a pedestrian.


Two motorists from Olievenbosch who are accused of robbing a pedestrian were remanded in custody by the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.

They were arrested minutes after the incident which occurred mid-morning on 12 October last year in Midrand. They stopped their vehicle next to the victim and robbed him of a laptop and cell phone at gunpoint and drove away. Police officers on routine patrol in a vehicle came along and the victim told them of the incident and pointed to the robbers’ vehicle which was not far away.

They pursued, stopped and searched the vehicle and found the victim’s items inside. The men were arrested and the items returned to the victim. Their next hearing is pending the conclusion of further investigation.
