ALEXANDRA – Toolbox thief intends pleading guilty

The Alexandra Magistrates’ Court remanded in custody pending a further hearing, a man who wants to plead guilty for theft from a motor vehicle.

His next hearing is subject to the conclusion of further investigation.

Tshepo Hadebe (21) fled from the crime scene at a 14th Avenue home late afternoon on 20 December with a toolbox stolen from the victim’s vehicle. The toolbox contained spanners and a jack.

The victim got home at about 5 pm and parked his vehicle before going to sleep. He was woken up an hour later by a neighbour to inform him of the theft. The neighbour saw Hadebe taking the items from the vehicle. When he called his name and told him that he would tell the victim, Hadebe ran away with the items. The incident was reported at the Alexandra Police Station and he was arrested. None of the items was recovered.
