The Democratic Alliance PR councillor in the City of Johannesburg Shadrack Mkhonto wished the people of South Africa and residents of Alexandra a happy festive season and prosperous New Year.
In his Christmas message to his constituency, Mkhonto said, “On behalf of the Democratic Alliance, I would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year. To all those who will be travelling to other provinces to visit their families, drive safely until you come back safe,” he said.
He also reminded all eligible voters not to forget to double check if their names appeared on the voters roll for next year’s elections. “2019 will be one of the most important years for us with general elections set to take place. Every voter should ensure that his or her name appears on the voters roll. The IEC has announced 26 and 27 January 2019 as its final registration for those who could not register last time.”
