Union of Jewish Women treat Alexandra’s children to a Christmas party

ALEXANDRA – This has been a great year for everyone involved in the after-care centre.

The children of the Alexandra After-Care Centre and Feeding Scheme were delighted with a Christmas party on 7 December hosted by the Union of Jewish Women.

“About 120 children were invited and enjoyed a party,” said Cindy Kree, an executive director at the Jewish organisation.

She added that the children performed a variety of different dances, read out poems and expressed words of thanks to the organisation, donors, volunteers and supporters of the project.

“Some children also received certificates of work progress, conduct, performance, attendance and a host of other excellent achievements.

“Every child also received a Christmas gift, with thanks to all our generous donors from Mitzvah Day Wrap-A-Thon. This has been a great year for everyone involved in the after-care centre, a year of growth and development and excitement, but also a year of extra effort expended, which means children and adults are ready for and looking forward to a well-earned rest.”

Kree said a special thank you must go to all those who donated additional sweets, cakes and balloons to the party and to all the sponsors and donors during the past year.
