Stage 2 #loadshedding is to be implemented from 8am until 10pm today

JOBURG – Arrive Alive has also issued tips on how to adjust one's driving habits during loadshedding.

Eskom has said that Stage 2 loadshedding will begin from 8am until 10pm today, 2 December.

From 4pm yesterday, 1 December, the power entity changed loadshedding from Stage 1 to Stage 2.

Eskom on 30 November issued a statement that the risk of Stage 1 loadshedding remained high over this first weekend of December.

In a statement, the power entity said that the probability of loadshedding is high as a result of a shortage of capacity. “Generation plant is out in planned maintenance and there is a higher than expected number of units on unplanned maintenance due to technical faults,” read the statement.

The Arrive Alive Road Safety Website shared tips on the impact of loadshedding on the roads.

The tips suggested that drivers plan routes to avoid heavy traffic and to leave early in a bid to avoid the heavy traffic and to take caution at faulty traffic lights. The website added that the ‘correct driving attitude’ could go a long way in preventing collisions.
