Employee points out co-robbers

ALEXANDRA – 70-year-old granny colludes in robbery of employer.

An elderly woman who enabled a house robbery in 2016 was further remanded in custody to February next year in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court after she was unable to pay R50 000 bail.

The accused Hilda Ndlovu (70) let two men and a woman into her Sandton employer’s home in May 2016. They were captured on CCTV footage arriving in a microbus and holding up the homeowners at gunpoint before leaving with unspecified items. The vehicle was traced to a parent of one of the men. Ndlovu initially claimed not to have witnessed the incident saying she was on the phone talking to someone. But she later admitted to investigators that she had colluded with the perpetrators and was arrested in March last year. She told police the whereabouts of the three suspects who were all arrested.

One of them is out on R5 000 while she and the other two languish in jail awaiting a hearing.
