St Mary’s School Waverley has expressed pride in two of its learners who have been selected for the Gauteng debating team.
The spokesperson for the school, Kathy Mittendorf said, “The Gauteng debating school’s board recently announced its provincial team to participate in the national competition to be held at the end of this year.”
Anqi Qu in Grade 11 and head girl for next year was selected for the Gauteng senior team and Grade 9 learner Ande Dhlomo was chosen for the junior team.
Head of debating at the school Seipati Mohapi said, “Training started on 28 October and will continue until the national competitions which happen from 3 to 8 December at the University of Witwatersrand, Education Campus.”
