ALEX - The two young mothers charged with negligence and culpable homicide following the deaths of their four children will apply for temporary release to attend their funerals this weekend.

The two young mothers charged with negligence and culpable homicide following the deaths of their four children will apply for temporary release to attend their funerals this weekend. The Alexandra Magistrates’ Court will consider their request on Friday, 22 September.

The children died in an inferno in a locked 10th Avenue home early morning, 16 September while the accused were at a tavern.

The shocking incident left the Gauteng MEC for Social Development Nandi Mayathula-Khoza weeping and asking for the community to support the victims’ families. She decried the fact that the accused left the little ones to die alone. A memorial service for the children will be conducted at a local school today, 19 September.
