#MarlboroShooting: UPDATE: Police investigate two cases of murder and one of attempted murder

ALEXANDRA – Armsta chairperson Sam Budza dies during a shooting in Marlboro on Thursday evening.

 

 

Police are investigating two cases of murder and one of attempted murder after a shooting in Marlboro on Thursday evening, 12 July.

The South African Police Service has launched a manhunt after the two died, one of whom is the chairperson of the Alexandra, Randburg, Midrand and Sandton Taxi Association (Armsta).

According to Lieutenant Kay Makhubela, the police are still investigating.

“I can confirm that two people were shot dead and others injured in a shooting that took place in Marlboro. The police are currently investigating two cases of murder and one of attempted murder,” he said

John Mnisi of Armsta confirmed on Friday that the association’s chairperson Sam Budza and one of their members were shot dead.

“Two of our members were shot dead and one was injured and rushed to hospital in yesterday evening’s shooting. I can confirm that our chairperson Sam Budza was unfortunately among those who passed away.”

According to Makhubela, the police have yet to establish a motive for the shooting.
