Children of Boitumelong Day Care host music concert

ALEXANDRA – Parents and the community of Alexandra came out in their numbers in support of a fundraising concert.

A cold winter evening did not stop hundreds of parents and community members from attending a spectacular children’s concert.

The Boitumelong Children’s Day Care Centre on the corner of Selbourne and 4th avenues hosted a music concert aimed at raising funds to refurbish the toilets and buy blankets and heaters to keep the children warm this winter.

Hordes of people filled Carter Primary School’s main hall to capacity to watch the little future stars perform live on stage. According to the daycare’s principal Nokulunga Ngcobo, more than 250 tickets were sold for the event in the evening of 2 June.

“We’ve reached more than our target. We never thought that this was going to be such a mega event. We are very pleased with the support we received from parents and the community,” Ngcobo said

The event was enjoyed by all as the children gave their best performances in different dance and music groups, wearing colourful outfits that brightened the night.
