Checklist for commuting with public transport on a rainy day

ALEX – Do you walk, cycle or take public transport on a daily basis? Here's a checklist of what you need to make you more comfortable in the rain.

Getting to work on a rainy day using public transport can be a drag, especially when every other car driving by is splashing you … here’s a checklist of what to have to make your commute a little bit easier:

Rain Coat

Rain gear, such as a bright raincoat will make you visible to motorists and other pedestrians. Make sure your raincoat is water resistant and, if possible, warm as well.

Umbrella

If you must have anything, an umbrella is your best friend in rainy weather, once again the brighter the better.

Wellingtons

Rain boots are a great idea to keep warm and will also allow you to navigate through wet grass and puddles easily.

Extra clothes

Taking an extra set of clothes can come in handy to ensure that you are not forced to stay in soggy clothes all day.

Your cellphone can be an all-encompassing communication tool complete with maps, emergency numbers, navigation tools and safety apps. Make sure you pack a charger, power bank, an extra battery or even a spare cellphone for emergencies.
