Jonas Ramokgola will now be represented by a Legal Aid attorney.
During his brief appearance on 15 March at the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court, his legal representative withdrew from the case.
Addressing the court, the attorney said he was withdrawing as an attorney on record due to a conflict of interest. The attorney went on to say the accused had not paid him for his services, adding that this was another reason for him withdrawing from the case.
State Prosecutor, Keshini Reddy requested a further postponement in order to allow the state to do further investigations on the matter.
Magistrate Syta Prinsloo granted the postponement.
The matter has been remanded to 4 May for further investigations and also to allow the accused time to apply for Legal Aid.
