Use your good looks to help a charity

ALEXANDRA – Help a charity and win handsomely.

Alex’s male and female youth who are well-endowed in body, beauty and selflessness are invited to a modelling contest in which they stand to win handsomely while helping a worthy cause.

They will pit their attributes against others of like-physique, mind and spirit at events hosted by the non-profit organisation, Thusanang Community Project. Auditions will be conducted in Atteridgeville, Pretoria, on 10 March, in Braamfontein for those in inner-city Joburg on 17 March and at Olive Tree Theatre, Marlboro, on 14 April for Alexandrians. There will be follow-up quarter and semi-finals culminating in the finals at venues, times and dates still to be announced. Winners in both categories will walk away loaded.

The organisation’s founder, Dineo Kwenaite and winner of various charity oriented events including Young Community Shapers’ Competition which featured on television, a finalist in Jet’s Community Heroes of the Year Award and Ambi’s Remarkable Young Women’s Competition, said the initiative is a fundraiser for their feeding scheme and will expose aspirant models. “I adopted the caring attitude from my grandmother’s altruistic deeds of running an extended family of biological siblings and others who, when I was young, congregated daily as a large family at our Pretoria home for meals and shelter.

“It’s also, the organisation’s way of involving others without platforms of helping and giving back to the poor. “

Eligible entrants should be 16 to 26 years of age, possess a South Africa ID, submit a facial or full body picture and pay a once-off fee of R200. Males should be tall, handsome, attractive, loving and be inspired.

Females should be pretty, passionate, inspired and with destiny, have inner and outer beauty, dreamers with ambition, of balanced health, intelligent, motivators and role models.

All phases will be adjudicated by respectable judges and entry fees for the public in the quarter, semi-finals and finals will be R20, R30 and R50 respectively.

Winners in both categories will receive R25 000 as well as grocery and cosmetic hampers, participate in the organisation’s charity work for a year, get dream photoshoots and public exposure. Two others in both categories will also win Mr and Miss Personality of the Day and walk away with a laptop each. Entry forms can be downloaded on www.thusanangproject.org.za.
