Hijackers drive stolen vehicle into shack then flee

ALEXANDRA – Hijackers crash car into Alex shack.

 

A victim of a hijacking recovered her motor vehicle which was found abandoned and damaged after it was driven into the wall of a shack by suspects late in the afternoon of 5 February.

According to Alexandra Police Station spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang the incident occurred at 3pm in East Bank. The victim, a Taxify driver from central Joburg who had two passengers in her VW Polo, slowed down after the passengers’ friend called and asked to be picked up. At that moment, a man, known to one of the passengers, came running towards the vehicle and asked for help. Just then, two other men, seemingly chasing the man, allegedly ordered everyone out of the vehicle and drove away.

It wasn’t specified what happened to the man who was being chased. The hijacking was reported to the police, leading to the recovery of the damaged vehicle at the shack on 3rd Avenue. The suspects are wanted.
