They ordered the crew to be quiet, demanded money and told them they didn’t want their cellphones. The suspects allegedly took R1 300 from the driver and three of them drove away in the truck. The other two remained with the crew whom they allegedly took to the Rotary grounds nearby but later released them.

The truck was later found by police abandoned on 6th Avenue after the crew reported the incident.

The same afternoon, while the police were investigating the incident, they noticed a Chevrolet car parked on the roadside with two occupants. A check on the vehicle revealed that it was reported as stolen.
