An Alex man who was released on parole for another crime was recently sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by Alex Magistrates’ Court after he admitted to stealing gardening tools from his family home.
Russell Mogkoro (27) admitted in court to stealing a pick, a rake, a wheelbarrow and three folding chairs in November last year. He was observed by neighbours on CCTV footage taking the items. Community members tracked, caught and beat him before handing him over to police who arrested him.
It wasn’t specified if any of the stolen items were recovered.
