The two who were also co-workers in Doornfontein kidnapped the victim from the boyfriend’s home in Tsutsumani and drove with her to City Deep were she was strangled, suffocated and stabbed to death. They then took the body to Rustenburg where it was burnt and buried in a yard said to be home to one of them, to conceal evidence. Investigators discovered the location and exhumed the body in May 2017.

Further evidence of their involvement was found in their employer’s vehicle used at the time by Mweli who was also charged with failure to report the loss of a licensed gun within a stipulated time.
