JUST IN: Mbopha’s alleged killer cuffed

ALEXANDRA - Information received by police resulted in the arrest of Mbopha's alleged killer.

A 36-year-old man who is believed to have fired the shot that killed businessman, Mbopha Mashigo, has been arrested, police said.

Spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said police reacted to information received from a community member who had identified the man.

He said the man has been a long-term resident.

“He was arrested on Saturday morning at his home where he had been living for a long time,” Kodisang said.

The man is expected to appear at the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning for a formal bail application.

Kodisang thanked the community of Alex for their help in finding the alleged killer.

“This case is too big for us, we could not have caught him without help from the community.”
