Investec touches the needy

ALEXANDRA – Investec Bank gives early Xmas to Kidz Clinic.

Clients(out-patients) of Kidz Clinic received early Christmas gifts.

This, through Investec Bank’s corporate social investment programme, Touch-by-giving, in which the bank’s staff members volunteer. A happy group of young Investec staff members visited the clinic and packed sanitary, cleaning and bathing items into comfort packs for distribution to the beneficiaries.

The clinic, based at the Alex Police Station and partner of the police’s victim support unit, is part of non-profit organisation, Women and Men Against Child Abuse. The clinic provides psycho-social support, particularly to young victims of psychological and physical abuse.

Kevin Barbeau of the clinic thanked the bank and its employees for their humane consideration of others in distress. “Any material support given will complement the emotional healing of the clients also struggling with personal trauma-inducing conditions in their homes and poverty,” he said.

Their message was that those in distress also need comfort.
