Murder and an attempted murder cases were part of the 130 crimes handled by the police in Alex, week ending 11 November.
According to the police spokesperson, Captain Allie Kodisang, the statistics were:
Suspects arrested:
- 1 for attempted murder
- 14 for common assault
- 9 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
- 4 for shoplifting
- 3 for theft
- 1 for fraud
- 2 for common robbery
- 6 for malicious damage to property
- 1 for arson
- 2 for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition
- 2 for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles or property
- 15 for drug use, possession and selling.

Priority crimes reported:
- 1 for murder
- 3 for theft of trucks
- 2 for residential burglary
- 3 for business burglary
- 3 for house robbery
- 7 for robbery with a firearm.
