BIA seeks entrepreneurs to enter competition

Alex entrepreneurs are called upon to enter the fourth annual FNB Business Innovation Awards (Bia) supported by Endeavor South Africa, a high-impact entrepreneurship movement leader around the world, set to take place in 2018.

In order to qualify, businesses need to be founder-led, demonstrate the potential for high-growth and have the ability to add substantial economic value through the creation of sustainable employment opportunities.

Entrants will undergo a tough selection process a seasoned panel of judges before they are shortlisted. The selection process will also entail that finalists get an opportunity to present their businesses to the panel of judges.

FNB Business CEO, Mike Vacy-Lyle said the country needs entrepreneurs now, more than ever, in order to help change economic fortunes for the better.

He added that the overall winner will be dubbed the FNB Business Innovator for 2018 and will also receive an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the prestigious Enveavor International Selection Panel in Argentina in September 2018.

Founder of the BrandsEye, and the winner of the 2017 FNB Bia, Craig Raw, said the competition has opened up international markets and provided exposure which was necessary to build a successful growing business.

“This platform gives entrepreneurs the ability to think globally as businesses need not be bolted down to a local market when the view is growth focused, exposure to and how successful businesses around the world operate adds a new dynamic to local business,” Raw said.

Interested entrepreneurs have until 30 November to submit their entries on the FNB Bia website.
