A taxi driver abandoned his Toyota Avanza taxi after a suspicious-looking man entered the stationary vehicle at Alex Mall at 8pm on 6 October.
Minutes after the driver and three passengers exited the taxi, the suspect allegedly drove away in the vehicle.

Spokesperson for Alex Police Station, Captain Allie Kodisang said, “When the suspect entered the vehicle he told the victim to relax but the driver got scared and ran away when he noticed a bulge underneath the suspect’s shirt which he suspected to be a gun.”
The vehicle valued at R120 000 has not yet been found.
