Alumni wanted for Zenzeleni Primary School in Alex

ALEXANDRA – Zenzeleni pleads for help from former schoolchildren and partners.

Zenzeleni Primary School is appealing to its alumni for partnerships to help make the school into a leading innovation and education hub.

Making the request, principal Thandi Gumede said, “The school shaped them [schoolchildren] to be what and who they are. We want to embrace them in partnerships of positive value to the school like in other areas where former pupils’s strong back-up support has built libraries and conduct successful fundraising.”

She said they want to brainstorm ideas with the partners and create ways to make the school an innovative hub in line with the provincial department of education’s vision for all schools to be fully digital and to match current global standards that have done away with chalk boards and unessential material.

“This will also prioritise fulfilling a policy directive of concentrating on literacy and maths for the Grade 3 exit phase and on English and maths for intermediate Grade 6 classes leading to the senior phase.”
