Father accused of killing his five-year-old son will not be applying for bail.

Murder accused Seisax Boesack made his first appearance in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.

The 35-year-old is accused of allegedly beating his five-year-old son to death on 1 September at their home in Chrisville, south of Johannesburg.

Addressing the court, State prosecutor Talita Louw said the State was pursuing with a murder charge, highlighting that the accused beat his son to death.

Speaking through his legal aid representative, the accused said he would not be applying for bail.
Magistrate Simon Radasi told the accused that he was facing a serious charge, adding that if found guilty, the minimum sentence would be life imprisonment.

During the proceeding, Boesack appeared calm and responded respectfully to the magistrate, calling him sir.

The case has been postponed to 4 October to allow further investigations, including the release of post mortem results.
