Alex men robbed of cars mid night, same day

ALEXANDRA – Peeing man robbed of friend's car, another at his gate same time.

 

A man was allegedly robbed of his friend’s Mercedes-Benz by two armed suspects who approached him as he was urinating on the side of a road.

Police spokesperson Captain Allie Kodisang said police are investigating the incident which occurred at midnight on 2 August at the intersection of 11th and Alfred Nzo avenues.

The victim alleged that as he urinated, a gun was pressed and cocked at the back of his head by a suspect who demanded that he show him and an accomplice how to drive the vehicle, which had the keys in the ignition. He claimed to have done so before he ran away and contacted the vehicle’s owner and later, reported to the police station. An officer drove him to the scene but they didn’t find the vehicle which hadn’t been recovered at the time of reporting.

Meanwhile, another victim was allegedly chased away from his VW Golf, which was parked next to the gate of his 16th Avenue home by two armed robbers who drove away in it. Kodisang said police are investigating the incident which occurred at midnight on 2 August. After approaching the victim, one of the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at him and demanded his belongings while the other searched him and took a wallet with bank cards from his pocket. He also took vehicle keys from his hand. The armed suspects then ordered him to run off. He saw them from a distance driving away in the R130 000 vehicle which also hadn’t been recovered at the time of reporting.
